This working paper presents the insights of leading renewable energy financiers on the current opportunities and blockages to potential investment in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. The paper aims to bring forward this experience to assist those involved in policy.
 The summary is based on two Roundtables (late 2010, and 2011) bringing together mainstream financiers, both from London and the region itself. Financiers ranged from international project finance banks, including regional or global heads of renewable energy, investment banks, as well as specialised private equity, and a more limited number of equity and banking institutions based in the Gulf region: all with an active interest in renewable energy.
