摘要 | The Wallace Foundation commissioned three literature syntheses on topics related to school leadership. Mathematica is working with Vanderbilt University on a synthesis focused on the topic of assistant principals (APs). The synthesis aims to address two key questions: (1) how the AP role can train those who want to be principals to be effective in that role, and (2) how the role of AP is differentiated from its role as preparation for the principalship. Mathematica will (1) review quantitative studies on APs, (2) conduct supplemental data analyses about APs using national data from the Schools and Staffing Survey/National Teacher and Principal Survey and administrative educator data collected from Pennsylvania, and (3) contribute to writing the report. |
