Loss and Damage (L&D) refers to the unavoidable consequences of climate change resulting from either climate-related extreme events (such as floods, storms, and droughts) or through longer-term climate variability (such as sea-level rise and glacier retreat). This black & white paper examines how the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change work plan on Loss & Damage relates to food security and livelihoods, and proposes recommendations for managing loss and damage based on evidence from Asian countries.
